How can I make a tax-exempt purchase?
To apply a tax-exempt status to your purchase, please bring a physical copy of your state-appropriate* tax-exemption paperwork with you to the store when you come in to make your purchase! Our cashiers will be able to adjust your total at checkout to reflect your tax-exempt status.
*Please note that if you are purchasing at a store outside of your local state, the documentation you present must be appropriate to the state of the store you are shopping at.
What methods of payment can I use?
The accepted methods of payment for a tax-exempt purchase would include a company debit/credit card*, a company check, or NET30 account. If you intend to have an employee of your business facilitate this pick up, we kindly ask that this individual have some form of ID or documentation that ties them directly to your business, such as a work ID or current W2.
*Please note that if you are paying with a company debit/credit card with a specific individual's name on it, that same individual must be the one present to facilitate use of the card.
Why doesn't the total in my cart reflect my tax-exempt status?
At this time, our website accounts do not have the ability to retain your tax-exempt status, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. You can bring your tax-exempt documents and method of payment into your local store when you come to make your purchase, and our team will adjust your total to reflect your tax-exemption at check-out.
Are Apple products eligible for Tax-Exemption as a reseller?
At this time, Apple products do not qualify for tax-exempt status for reseller purchases at our stores.
How can I add my tax-exempt status to my shipping order?
We kindly ask that you reach out through our business services team to place your shipping order with tax-exempt status. You can begin this process by reaching out to our Business Services team at MCBS@microcenter.com!
What if I already placed my shipping order and did not have my tax-exempt status applied to it?
Please reach out to us through our live agent chat on our website within 30 days of your purchase, and our team will be happy to speak with you about a reimbursement of the sales tax on your purchase.
I noticed that I was still charged tax on my receipt, even after presenting my tax-exempt documentation.
