Micro Center offers a graphics card trade-in program for standalone purchases, excluding prebuilt systems, with online estimates and in-person consultations available. They also accept working computer donations through a partnership with Compudopt, providing tax receipts and data destruction services. For non-working items or failed video cards, Micro Center provides a recycling program for various electronics, requiring scheduled consultations.
Graphics Card Trade-In
Our trade in program applies when the graphics card is a standalone purchase from Micro Center. This does not apply to manufactured prebuilds, but if you purchased all of the parts separately and are looking to trade in your card for credit, you can get an estimated value online or schedule a in-person consultation at https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/trade-in-landing.aspx. Please note that refurbished GPU's are not eligible for the trade in program. If you have an issue verifying if your card was purchased from Micro Center, please reach out to our Customer Service team and we would be happy to provide a receipt for your purchase.
Donations
Our second option is great for any computer that is working that you no longer need. Micro Center has partnered with Compudopt to accept any computer that is working. You will receive a tax receipt alongside your donation, which may allow you to claim deductions when tax season comes around. We even offer Data Destruction services to erase your storage drive to ensure your data is removed before its donated.
Recycling
Micro Centers last option if either the video card fails testing, or the computer is not working. Individuals may bring in most items by scheduling a consultation. Currently we accept Computers, Tablets, Printers, TVs, Cellphones, Peripherals, Computer Components, and some Networking and Smart-Home devices. Details on our Recycling program can also be found online at https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/recycling-program.aspx.
